How things change!

Life is constantly changing and we are not exempt! We have decided to sell our farm but not to stop farming. We are leasing land in North Langley at Glen Valley Organic Farm and will continue our development of the herb business from there. But our farm will find a new owner. For that reason, our on-farm store will close permanently on August 15th, 2009. You may still order on-line and continue to get in touch with us at 604-539-0798. My product line continues and will expand after we get settled at Glen Valley farm. If you run out of anything, have a question or just want to say hi, feel free to call. Also, come and visit us each Wednesday from 3-7 PM at the Langley Farmers' Market in the Kwantlen College parking lot off Glover Road. The Langley market continues until October 7th, 2009.

I thank you all for supporting my herb business as it grows and I look forward to being in touch in the spring. I will let you know where I am, what markets I will be attending and introduce you to our new products as they develop.

Keep in touch!

Come and volunteer on the farm!

In return for a minimum three hour weeding, come to the farm and see first hand how an organic farm works. Enjoy a tour of the farm and the on-farm store and then spend some time in the garden being introduced to the plants. See how the plants grow and interact with the soil and weeds around them. Learn to recognize the different herbs and weeds and find out how natures bounty can be a part of a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like! Meet the dogs and the ducks and be prepared for great conversations in the garden. Come ready to work and enjoy.
Groups welcome.
Please call ahead to book a day and a time.

Can't wait to meet you in the garden!

February is here!
Our on-farm stores on Saturday, February 7th. The hours are 10 AM until 4 PM.
The plan was to be opened every Saturday until December but due to prior commitments we will have to close on February 14th and February 21st.
Come and see us at the Vancouver Farmers' Market at Wise Hall from 10 AM until 2 PM on
February 14th.
February 21st I am off to an organic conference to learn how to be a better grower.
After that, we are here every Saturday.
Check our blog regularly in case I have to change an opening date in the future.

February starts off with salves, massage oils, vinegars and dried herbs for sale. We plan to incorporate local crafters over the season, involving people who live in our community.

When I have plants available, I will let you know. The greenhouse is ready and waiting, we just need a bit more heat.

Email me if you have a question: bmcclellan@shaw.ca

Putting the garden to bed!

Life on the farm is a series of pulling plants up, cutting plants back and splitting large plants into smaller ones in preparation for next spring season. Putting the garden to bed is a large but pleasurable job - it takes about a month of full time work to put the complete this. This, however, brings visions of spring plantings and how things will look when the warm weather comes back. It starts the mind reeling about what and where to plant in the spring - dreams of the spring catalogue, looking for new herbs and flowers to try next season.

How is your garden? Are you an organic farmer too? Do you have secrets of the garden to share?
